16. Albert Sievers
was born on March 5, 1845
in a little town near Hamburg, Germany called Krummwehl. He then was
baptized on March 28, 1845 in the Evangelisch Lutherische Church
in the nearby town of Beidenfleth. Albert married Catharina Dorothea
Schlotmann on June 22, 1870 in
Catharina's home town of Marne, Germany. Shortly after their marriage,
Albert and Catharina travelled to New York from Hamburg on the Steamship
SELISIA, arriving in New York on July 13, 1870, and were in San Francisco by
August 19, 1870. Albert Sievers died on December 3, 1890 in San
Francisco, California, at the age of 45.

17. Catharina
Dorothea Schlotmann was born on 22 Mar 1846 in Marne, Germany. Catharina
married Albert Sievers in her hometown of Marne, Germany on June 22, 1870 . Shortly after
their marriage Albert and Catharina travelled to New York from Hamburg on the
Steamship SELISIA, arriving in New York on July 13, 1870, and were in San
Francisco by August 19, 1870. After Albert died in 1890 at the age of 45,
Catharina married Albert's younger brother John Sievers in 1900 in San
Francisco, California. Catharina died on 18 Oct 1924 in Tempe, Arizona at
the age of 78 from Apoplexy (stroke), and was buried next to John Sievers in
California at Olivet Memorial Park, 1601 Hillside, Lawn 36, monument 3232.

16b. Johannes Sievers (aka John), the younger brother of Albert,
was born on April 5, 1849
in a little town near Hamburg, Germany called Krummwehl. He was then
baptized on April 20, 1849 in the Evangelisch Lutherische Church
in the nearby town of Beidenfleth. He travelled to the USA from Germany in
1867, possibly on the steamship ALLEMANNIA
, and by 1871 was hired by Charles Hayden to set up the machinery for the original flour mill in Tempe,
Arizona. On January 6, 1882, John Sievers married Eloisa Gallego at the Parish of the Assumption in Tempe,
Arizona. Eventually, John married Catharina Dorothea Schlotmann in 1900
in San Francisco, California. We do not know what happened to
Eloisa. After Catharina died in 1924, John moved in with his nephew
(Catharina's son) Albert John Sievers and his family in Oakland, California to
live out the last year of his life. John died on 14 Aug 1925 in Oakland,
California at the age of 76 from chronic Myocarditis (heart disease), and was
buried next to Catharina (Schlotmann) Sievers in California at Olivet Memorial
Park, 1601 Hillside, Lawn 36, monument 3232.

18. Christian
Frederick Mueller was born on January 9, 1849 probably in Denmark or
Northern Germany. He eventually moved to San Francisco, California where
he lived for many years and was a longshoreman who narrowly escaped the sinking
of the City of Chester (off the Golden Gate Bridge) on August 22, 1882 (or
1888?). Around 1876 or so he married Henrietta Schuett and together they
had 8 children. Christian died on February 28, 1943 in Alameda County,
California.

24. David Ross was born in Cromarty, Scotland. The home he was born in is still standing and is a historical landmark. He took part in the Crimean War in her majesties navy and was present at the taking of Sebastapol. Most of the exact information about his family is sketchy, but his obituary notes that he was the son of John Ross and grandson of David Ross, all of Cromarty. David died in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, alone in the forest, apparently either having lost his way or had a heart attack while hunting. See article here

Auguste Antje Elsabea Schlotmann, the younger
sister of Catharina Schlotmann, was born in Marne, Germany , in
1850. On May 2, 1873 she married
Julius Juergen Bolten in Marne , and eventually moved to Altona (we
think). She had two sons, one of whom was possibly named Willi or William
Bolten.

Auguste Schlotmann in Marne in

Friedrich Hermann Schlotmann, the older brother
of Catharina Schlotmann, was born in Marne, Germany , in
1841. On November 10, 1871 he
married Anna Christina Loges in Marne , and probably stayed in Marne--
perhaps working as a carpenter at Feldstrasse.
